The translation memory or TM is a database of pair segments in different languages. TM projects in Radialix 2 are separate. You can connect TM projects to localization projects to use the auto-translation feature. Besides, every localization project has a built-in memory of deleted translations. This memory stores translations that are deleted after updating a resource. The project manager is not used if a TM project is loaded as a separate project. You can load only one TM project at a time. As you localize an application, you can edit, create and connect TM projects without the need to close a localization project. Data in a TM project is represented as a table of strings. One project may contain more than two languages. Similar to localization projects, elements of a TM project have an ID and Status. Radialix 2 can create TM project files of two types:
You can edit and add TM data in the editor panel. Data can also be added as you edit resources of a localized file and by importing data from files of different formats. Radialix can check translation for spelling errors and translation correctness automatically as you do editing. Once an error is found, its table cell is displayed in a red frame. More detailed information about errors is shown in the Error List panel. As you edit, misspelled words are underlined with a red wavy line. Variants of correct spelling and spell checker commands are displayed in the context menu of a misspelled word. Validation of translation correctnessThe translation validation module allows you to find the most common errors. The settings of translation validation are stored in the settings of a translation memory project and can be edited in the Project Properties dialog. Translation can be validated manually or automatically as you edit values. You can validate selected translations by pressing Ctrl + F9, or from the popup menu. Remove replicatesThe user can delete or filter replicates in the translation memory. The settings related to search for replicates can be defined in the Properties menu Project>Properties. Radialix searches and deletes replicates without telling the user what strings are deleted. To view and choose replicates to delete, you must filter them. Once the filtering option is enabled, the editor lists replicates and highlights strings, which are suggested for removal. You can check the list of replicates, edit it and delete replicates via the context menu, or by pressing Ctrl+Del. To switch to the normal editing mode, the filter must be disabled. Sort translation memoryData in a translation memory file can be sorted by data for one of the languages. To sort TM data, you need to open the local menu of the column title with a required language. Add TM data from fileThe program lets you add data to an open TM project from another TM file. To migrate data, select the Add Translation Memory option from the Service menu. Translation replicates are not added. Values that have been added are labeled as New. Delete translations stored in another fileThe user can delete translations stored in another TM file. To do so, use the Exclude Translation Memory option in the Tools menu.
